Wow, What a Weekend!

Cody and I went home to Taylorsville this past weekend. On Saturday, we celebrated Connor's 3rd birthday with my family. Lots of family and kids from their church came for pizza, cake and ice cream. Connor got all kinds of nice presents, including a Hot Wheels parking garage, books, clothes, cars, and lots more! He had a great time! He is growing up so fast--we are so proud of our nephew! Happy Birthday Connor!

On Sunday, my mom and I gave Mary and Jeremy a wedding shower. We had a great turn out; about 20 people were there. We played some classic shower games, including the purse game and the toliet paper wedding dress game. We also played "The Wedding is Over," an absolutely hilarious game! The bride and groom had to pretend they were on their honeymoon, but the lights went out in the hotel, and they had to get dressed (seems a little backwards, I know). Whoever gets dressed first wins the game. So, Mary and Jeremy were both blindfolded and they each had 6 items in their suitcase they had to put on; however, Mary had to wear men's clothes and Jeremy had to wear women's clothes. The time starts and Mary rips into her bag. Jeremy had a little trouble getting his bag open, but he quickly caught up. Mary had to put on swimming trunks (she put both legs in one hole), a button down shirt (she put it on backwards), a tie, a straw hat, knee-high socks, and sandals. Jeremy had to put on a wig, a bathing suit top (it was so crooked!), a skirt, a scarf, sparkly flip flops, and a purse. They finished right at the same time, so it was tie. Everyone, including the bride and groom, was laughing so hard we were about to cry. Unfortunately, my camera died in the middle of all this. I was hoping to video it, but that didn't happen. Luckily, I was able to get my camera turned back on long enough to get a picture.

This is priceless...

Cody also attended more birthday parties on Sunday. Unfortunately, they were the same time as the shower, so I wasn't able to go. Cody's side of the family gave Connor a birthday party, and they also had a surprise birthday party for Cody's dad, James. James thought he was just attending Connor's party--little did he know that his friends were waiting for him as well. He was very surprised! Happy Birthday James!

We got back home in time to enjoy the last quarter or so of the Super Bowl with our neighbors, Mark and Elizabeth. (Jake had already gone "night, night, bed-y bye.") Thanks guys!

Wow, what a weekend!
